New Construction Ring (Mud Ring) for 4", Premium Ceiling Speaker For most installations, the Atlas + Fyne FC ceiling loudspeakers require no additional mounting hardware beyond the C-Rings &, Tile Bridges provided. However, for applications involving gypsum board (sheetrock), AtlasIED offers optional New Construction Rings to streamline the installation process and improve structural integrity.The New Construction Ring (Mud Ring) allows integrators to secure conduit or speaker wiring to a fixed reference prior to drywall installation. It also serves as a cutout guide, particularly useful in production environments requiring consistent speaker placement. Additionally, it preserves the speaker mounting location during framing and drywall phases.For finish-grade applications, the optional Mud Ring incorporates a circular offset that acts as a guide for drywall cutouts and edge-finishing. The Mud Ring includes structural wings for attachment to ceiling joists or other framing members. The sheetrock can be either precut or cut in place using a rotary tool guided along the outer ring perimeter. Once the drywall is installed, plaster is applied up to the ring&rsquo,s edge, resulting in a precise and seamless cutout aligned to the speaker&rsquo,s mounting profile.
